Stimuli-responsive materials are crucial for addressing current technological demands. For the first time, we reported that coordinative integration of photoresponsive building blocks within a rigid scaffold of metal-organic frameworks could be used toward mapping of changes in material properties, which could provide a pathway for monitoring material aging or structural deterioration. This work from the Shustova group was published in Journal of American Chemical Society (2018, 140, 7611), and have been highlighted on the cover.
