Revisions

All revisions to the Faculty Manual must be approved by the president and the Board of Trustees. On the Columbia campus, the Faculty Advisory Committee of the Faculty Senate presents all draft revisions to the Faculty Manual to the General Faculty for formal discussion and approval.

Once the draft revisions have been approved by the General Faculty, the Provost Office coordinates the final review process in preparation for presentation to the Board of Trustees. For more information, see UNIV 1.00 Policy on Policies.

Proposed Changes

The following changes are to be vote upon by the General Faculty.

September 5, 2018 [pdf]

  • Grievance Committee change
    Removal of the representative from the Faculty Salary Equity Oversight Committee is proposed directly to the General Faculty.  This is an urgent matter; the committee cannot be properly constituted because the FSEOC does not exist any longer.
  • “Terms of Employment” date change (August 16 through May 15)
  • Faculty Advisory housekeeping changes for clarity and rewording to conform to approved language and policy.

  • April 28, 2015: Proposed Changes Approved by General Faculty [pdf]
    • All references to “Regional Campus(es)” are substituted with “Palmetto College Campuses.”
    • Replace reference to the end of the nine-month term of appointment from “through commencement” to “May 15th.”
