    RISE: Research Initiative for Summer Engagement issues call for 2024 proposals

    The RISE program employs a competitive application process to provide for summer salary, research supplies, travel related to research and undergraduate student support to bolster scholarship across the USC system. This program is open to faculty at all USC system campuses. Applications for RISE are due Wednesday, December 20, 2023. There will be designated optional informational sessions held online for Senior campuses (Friday, October 27 at noon) and for Palmetto campuses (Friday, November 3 at noon).     Funding Opportunities through the Ethical and Responsible Research (ER2) Program at the NSF

    A Program Director within the National Science Foundation’s Directorate for Social, Behavioral and Economic Sciences, Dr. Jason Borenstein, is offering a presentation via Zoom on Tuesday, October 10, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., hosted by Clemson University. This talk will cover the Ethical and Responsible Research (ER2) Program at the National Science Foundation. Projects funded by ER2 use fundamental research to produce knowledge pertaining to responsible research practices and methods at all level of research. The talk will cover a range of ethical categories for researchers in STEM fields. Please register ahead of time here

     

    Internal funding for faculty and graduate students

    • Excel provides up to $18,000 in funding to faculty in liberal arts, humanities, and social sciences. Applications are due Tuesday, October 24, 2023.
    • SPARC applications are due Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 5:00 p.m. for graduate students seeking grants for their research. Visit the SPARC program page for information about the application process.
