Office of Research honors faculty members for supporting important research programs 

The Office of the Vice President for Research is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2024 Distinguished Research Service Awards (DRSA) and Distinguished Undergraduate Research Mentor Awards (DURMA). DRSA recipients have demonstrated exceptional commitment to USC’s research community through consistent service as reviewers and committee members for our internal funding and awards programs. DURMA awardees have dedicated extensive time and energy to guiding undergraduate students through the research process, from developing a new project to teaching research methods and skills to providing the support needed for a student to see their project through. Reviewers needed for Discover USC 2024 which will host over 1,100 presentations! 

Discover USC will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. Registration is closed for presenters. Organizers are still seeking eligible participants to serve as reviewers, please register here to be a reviewer (registration closes Friday, March 22, 2024). Eligibility requirements for reviewers are listed on the sign-up form. We hope to see you there!

 

The second annual Research Core Fair is tomorrow!

The University of South Carolina is hosting a Research Core Fair on Friday, March 15, 2024, to spotlight the wealth of resources at the university that are available to researchers. The Research Core Fair is open to all USC students, faculty and staff. The full schedule and talk titles are available on our website. Thank you to those of you who have registered to attend—we look forward to seeing you there! 

 

Notice: SAM Office is Moving

The Offices of Sponsored Awards Management and Research Compliance are moving to a new home, same building, different floor. The current office is now closed and our new offices will not be ready for occupancy until late April. During this time, SAM and ORC staff will work fully remote, meaning there will be no disruption of normal services. USC researchers and administrators should continue to contact your representative via MS Teams or email as phone service will be interrupted. New Location (as of late April): Office of Research Administration (SAM & ORC), Suite 805, 1600 Hampton Street.

The University Libraries’ Research Data Analysis and Statistics Support Service is free and here to help you with: exploratory data analysis, statistical tests, SAS, SPSS, and NVivo. In-person and virtual appointments are available. Walk-ins are also welcome, although an appointment guarantees someone will be available to help you. ASPIRE program seeks 2024 faculty research proposals

The Office of the Vice President for Research is pleased to announce a 2024 ASPIRE funding program request for proposals (RFP). Visit our website for complete details about applying for ASPIRE. ASPIRE 2024 applications are due via USCeRA before 5:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 4, 2024.
