The Carolina Grants and Innovation Hub has launched a newly refurbished web section designed to help University of South Carolina faculty and staff explore funding opportunities and find support for their next research project.

The updated Find Funding section brings federal, private, and internal funding resources together in one centralized location to make funding opportunities more accessible for faculty and student researchers.

Federal Funding

Researchers can explore federal funding from agencies including the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation. The section features highlighted opportunities organized by agency, including current and forecasted opportunities, center and large-scale funding programs, and supplements available for active awards.

Funding Navigator

The section also introduces a new AI-based funding navigation tool designed to help investigators identify opportunities that align with their research. Users can search by keyword, describe their research, securely upload documents, track opportunities, save searches, and set alerts for new funding opportunities. The tool is protected within the USC secure network, and uploaded content is not used to train OpenAI models.

Internal Funding

Internal funding resources are also available for faculty, graduate, and undergraduate students, including competitive programs sponsored by the Office of the Vice President for Research and opportunities offered through the Office of Undergraduate Research.

Limited Submissions

Researchers can also use the section to identify and coordinate limited submission opportunities from federal agencies, non-profit, and other funders.
