Educational Psychology & Research, M.Ed.

This program provides training in both educational psychology and research methods; it can also include opportunities for research. You can enter the master’s program with an undergraduate degree in any number of fields. The program can be completed either on-campus or online.

On-Campus Option

The on-campus option is primarily designed for students who plan to complete a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Research or related fields (e.g., school psychology) upon finishing the M.Ed. In this option you can expect to take many of your classes face to face with a few online.

Together, these courses will provide you an in-depth understanding of essential research skills and analyses coupled with key knowledge of theories and findings on development, learning, instruction, motivation, and cognition. In addition, there are options to become involved with faculty and to join research projects.

Online Option

The online option is primarily designed for current educators and others seeking to increase their knowledge and skills related to educational psychology and research while pursing a master’s degree. In this option you can expect online courses to help you acquire fundamental research skills (e.g., design and analysis) and content (e.g., motivation, learning and instruction) that can be applied to a variety of educational settings (e.g., schools, science museums, zoos).

What kinds of work will I be able to do with this degree?
