Histology

Histology, the study of tissues at a microscopic level, unveils the intricate architecture of biological structures within organisms. Utilizing specialized staining and imaging techniques, histology enables the investigation of cellular composition, organization, and function, providing essential insights into the fundamental building blocks of living organisms.

Equipment Options

With the ability to store and run up to 15 different user defined staining protocols in a high-throughput system maintaining up to 11 racks of 30 slides, the Leica Autostainer XL provides reproducible, consistent high-quality staining, and increased workload throughput compared to manual staining.

The semi-automated Leica VT1200 S vibrating blade microtome is designed for sectioning fresh specimen. Designed for users who prefer to manually control sectioning parameters such as section thickness and cutting, this vibratome maintains magnetic specimen holders for easy specimen handling and reproducible orientation in addition to a minimal vertical deflection that minimizes specimen damage during sectioning and results in more viable cells on the section surface.

IThe X-CLARITY™ Polymerization System is a standalone, automated system developed to simplify tissue-hydrogel hybridization, a crucial step for optimal tissue clearing. Multiple samples can be placed in multi-well plates or conical tubes for rapid and efficient high-throughput sample processing. Users can control polymerization by adjusting vacuum strength, temperature, and a timer through a simple touchscreen interface.

The X-CLARITY™ Tissue Clearing System is an all-in-one, easy-to-use solution for electrophoretic tissue clearing. Its unique design accelerates the removal of lipids from tissues while preserving the structural integrity of the sample. A built-in temperature control system actively cools and heats buffer to maintain consistent buffer temperatures during clearing. Buffer is constantly circulated to ensure consistent buffering capacity, temperature control, and elimination of tissue clearing byproducts. This advanced system ensures efficient, rapid, and consistent tissue clearing.
