Dr. Lisa Hammond appointed as Director of Faculty Affairs

 

The  Office of the Provost is pleased to announce that Dr. Lisa Hammond, Professor of English at USC Lancaster, has been appointed as Director of Faculty Affairs in the Office of the Provost.  Dr. Hammond’s responsibilities will include support of all faculty appointment, promotion and tenure activities, including working with the Faculty Senate Office and facilitating review and update of unit criteria documents.  

Dr. Hammond joined USC Lancaster in 1998 and has served in a variety of faculty governance and administrative roles there, including chairing the Lancaster faculty organization and leading faculty development activities, chairing local and Palmetto College tenure and promotion committees, leading implementation of Palmetto College’s electronic tenure and promotion system, holding leadership roles in the Palmetto College Campuses Faculty Senate, and serving as Director of Institutional Effectiveness and Research for USC Lancaster.

Before joining our university system, Dr. Hammond taught two years at Michigan State University.  She completed her M.A. and Ph.D. in English at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, following her B.A. in English from Francis Marion Univeristy.
