The Office of the Provost is pleased to welcome Diana Hill Mitchell

Dr. Diana Hill Mitchell joined the University of South Carolina in November as Senior Associate Provost for Social Innovation and eLearning. A native of St. Louis, Missouri, Diana received her B.A. in Psychology from Washington University in St. Louis and her PhD in Social Psychology from Princeton University. Prior to coming to UofSC, she held an administrative appointment in the Graduate School at Washington University in St. Louis.

As an associate dean, Diana was responsible for academic policy and program analysis, building the team and infrastructure necessary to deliver data analytics on graduate education to departments and university administrators. She also was responsible for the shared governance role in the graduate school as well as leading two competitive fellowship programs. Prior to joining university administration, Diana worked for Anheuser-Busch and Aetna in the talent organizations as well as compliance and human resources. 

In Diana’s current role, she is responsible for the strategic direction and execution of Carolina Online including program and course development, branding and marketing, and enrollment management. She is partnering with stakeholders across the university, both academic and administrative, to ensure the success of our online effort.
