Division of Information Technology to hire part-time student workers

The Division of Information Technology announces its expansion of its classroom technology support on the Columbia campus by adding part-time student workers. Over the next several weeks, the Division of Information Technology will hire students with recruitment efforts kicking off at the USC Part-Time Job Fair on January 16.

Student workers will play a vital role in complementing the robust support model, which is staffed with embedded technical support personnel.

“Expanding our classroom technology support with the help of student workers is a game-changer for the University of South Carolina,” says Jeff Hostilo, executive director of teaching and learning technologies. “This initiative enhances the functionality and reliability of our teaching spaces and provides students with valuable hands-on experience in technology support. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.”

Student workers will conduct daily visits to classrooms to make sure the technology systems are working correctly and assist with resolving technical issues. This initiative allows the Division of Information Technology to provide even faster response times and continue delivering reliable, high-quality support for faculty and students.

Students interested in a part-time position with the Division of Information Technology should apply on Handshake.
