Blackboard Collaborate Ultra

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is a web-conferencing tool that works within class and organization sites. Each class or organization has a Course Room built-in. Instructors and students can create additional sessions that can be open-ended or have specific start/stop dates and times.

UPDATE: EFFECTIVE SPRING 2024

Zoom to replace Collaborate for eLearning

An enterprise version of Zoom will soon replace Blackboard Collaborate, and it can be used for both academic and administrative needs of all faculty, students, and staff within the university system.

Things to know

Those using Blackboard Collaborate will still be able to use it for the current semester, but Collaborate will no longer be available after May 15.

Please transfer any Collaborate recordings you plan to re-use to Panopto. Panopto is the enterprise-wide video recording, organizing, and sharing program that has an integration in Blackboard. If you need assistance doing that, see the following DoIT Knowledge articles:

Training in how to use Zoom with Blackboard will be available in the coming weeks.
