The Division of Information Technology and Blackboard Managed Hosting will perform the annual Blackboard Upgrade on Friday, December 21 beginning at 5 PM. The upgrade will take 24-36 hours, and Blackboard will be unavailable during this time.

The following are some the new end-user features, or enhancements to existing features. There will also be under the hood and security enhancements.

Record Attendance in Blackboard Learn
The Attendance column provides the overall attendance score in the Grade Center, where it can be included in the student’s overall grade.

Blackboard Alternative Formats
Students can access common document types including Word documents, PDF files, and PowerPoint presentations in alternative formats such as Electronic Braille, audio file, and tagged PDF.

Course Availability Status and Update
Instructors and other privileged course members can see the availability state of the course and change the state from the main course view.

More Efficient Grade Center Cleanup
Instructors can now more easily clean up their Grade Center by deleting multiple columns at once.

Create Recording for Feedback
An instructor or grader can create personalized feedback recordings for individual assessment attempts or manual Grade Center items.
