Take Advantage of these Office 365 Apps!

Students receive free access to Microsoft Office 365 during their years at UofSC. This includes the basics such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and more. Office 365 also includes several other applications that are beneficial to students and their coursework! Here is a list of apps we recommend:

OneNote:

Whether you have a million ideas, a million things to do, or a million things to remember, OneNote is the perfect app for capturing pretty much everything.

With OneNote, you can:

  • Type notes or record audio at your laptop.
  • Sketch or write ideas on your tablet.
  • Add picture from your phone.
  • Find notes instantly.
  • Freely move notes around the page.
  • Organize those pages into sections.
  • Keep your sections in one or more notebooks.
  • Switch devices and pick up right where you left off.
  • Share your notebooks with others so you can all view and contribute at the same time.

Office 365 Planner:

Planner is an application that allows you to organize teamwork. It is a hub that allows team members to create plans, assign tasks, and check progress updates via Planner dashboard. Each plan has its own board, where you can organize tasks into buckets. You can categorize tasks based on their status or on whom they’re assigned to. Planner lets you attach files to tasks, work together on those files, and have conversations around tasks without switching between apps.

Sway:

Sway is a new app from Microsoft Office that makes it easy to create and share interactive reports, personal stories, presentations, and more. With Sway, there’s no need to spend lots of time on formatting. Its built-in design engine takes care of making your creation look its best. If the initial design doesn’t quite match your taste or mood, you can easily apply another — or fully customize your layout to make it your own.

Microsoft Forms:

With Microsoft Forms, you can create surveys, quizzes, and polls, and easily see results as they come in. When you create a quiz or survey, you can invite others to respond to it using any web browser, even on mobile devices. As results are submitted, you can use built-in analytics to evaluate responses. Form data, such as quiz results, can be easily exported to Excel for additional analysis or grading.
