Some Voice Features Unavailable After Dec. 31, 2020

Some UofSC voice mail features that are currently supported by Flash will not be available after this calendar year. The change is due to the announcement by Adobe that Flash player will be retired at the end of 2020. Security patches and updates will not be released for Flash, which creates security vulnerabilities for users. Here’s what you need to know about changes to voice mail:

  • The site myvoicemail.uts.sc.edu, which allows users to listen to voicemail online, operates with Adobe Flash Player. Therefore, it will no longer be supported after December 31, 2020.

  • Users will no longer have access to the Avaya Call Center CMS reporting system, which allows users to check metrics for live and historical reporting, after December 31, 2020.
  • Users can still check voicemail by calling 803-777-6245, or the Messages button on their landline phone, if applicable.

  • The ability to check voicemail through email will not be affected.

To ensure the safety of your computer, we recommend all users uninstall Flash Player before December 31, 2020. Uninstall Instructions can be found here:

In addition, there is no longer a campus telephone operator. Individuals who call the university number of 803-777-7000 no longer speak to a person who routes their calls. There is now an automated greeting that provides the official university working hours,  how to reach the UofSC police department, and applicable weather and holiday updates.

If you have questions, please contact the UofSC IT Service Desk at 803-777-1800.
