Division of Information Technology

Welcome Back to Campus!

Welcome back, students! We are thrilled to have you back on campus. The Division of Information Technology offers technology assistance and support during your years as a student. Two big changes were made that you should note:

There’s a New Way to WiFi:

This summer, the Division of IT began a project to upgrade WiFi on the Columbia campus. While most of the updates occurred in residence halls, future plans also include upgrades to academic and administrative buildings across campus. Students in residence halls will see greater reliability, fewer disconnections and faster speeds than ever before.

What does this mean for you?
  • When you return to campus, you will no longer see USCStudent as a wireless option.
  • Instead, you will need to reconnect all of your devices that use WiFi (phones, laptops, tablets, watches, etc.) to the eduroam wireless network.
  • In order to connect to eduroam, you must enter @ds.sc.edu behind your Network Username. In other words, if your Network Username is johndoe, you must enter johndoe@ds.sc.edu to connect. Your password remains the same.

More information about these changes can be found here.
