Due to a steady decline in usage, effective October 1, 2021, UofSC Columbia will no longer offer Gamecock Cable. Results from a survey conducted in December 2019 indicate that 82 percent of students who live in residence halls on the Columbia campus do not use Gamecock Cable. There has also been declined usage from administrative and academic areas across campus.

Students currently have access to Gamecock Cable in residence halls. Beginning October 1, students will not have access to cable TV services.

The Division of Information Technology will offer a subscription-based streaming service entitled Stream2 beginning October 1. Stream2 is used by many universities across the country and includes a variety of channels. More details regarding how areas can utilize the service, billing information, and more will be available in the next few weeks. Students will not have access to the streaming service.
