Where Technology Meets Teaching: eLearning Services Shapes the Future of Learning

The Division of Information Technology’s eLearning Services team is always growing and improving the support offered to faculty, students, and staff—making sure everyone has the tools and training they need to thrive in today’s digital learning environment.

"Our eLearning Services team operates at the intersection of pedagogy and technology, ensuring that educational tools enhance rather than complicate the learning experience," said Executive Director of Teaching and Learning Technologies Jeff Hostilo.

This philosophy guides the wide range of services they provide to support faculty and enhance student learning such as Blackboard, Zoom and Panopto.

In addition to basic learning management system (LMS) support, eLearning Services offers personalized help with instructional technology, working with faculty to thoughtfully integrate the right tools into their teaching.

"By providing comprehensive training, ongoing support, and strategic consultation, we help faculty deliver high-quality instruction consistently across all modalities while ensuring every student has the technological foundation they need to succeed," said Hostilo.

The eLearning Service team at the Division of IT helps build a connected, user-friendly tech environment where all the tools work well together. They make sure the technology supports teaching goals and helps students succeed.

This cohesive approach to technology integration is strengthened by eService Learning director Rhiannon Mayer’s strong leadership and a clear vision for the future of digital learning.

"Rhiannon Mayer's leadership has been vital to our team's success,” Hostilo says. “Her dedication and expertise in educational technology ensure that our services remain focused on meaningful learning outcomes while embracing innovative solutions that truly serve our campus community.”
