Why you chose to pursue you degree within ASPH: When applying to colleges, I knew that I wanted to go to a school where not only did I get to learn about the scientific foundations required for a career in medicine but I would get to learn about how the healthcare field functions as a whole. ASPH offered exactly that and more! I was drawn to the Arnold school immediately when I realized the immense opportunities that the school offered. I loved that through this school I would have the ability to learn about the complexities of the healthcare system through exploring a variety of topics across courses. I was also impressed by the diverse opportunities for exposure that the Arnold school offers beyond unique and engaging courses. The research, study abroad, internship and volunteering opportunities sparked my interest and truly made my decision to choose ASPH so easy. I knew that this school was the perfect place for me to learn and grow through inside and outside of the classroom experiences. I felt confident that ASPH would challenge, support, and prepare me to be the strongest future healthcare professional that I could be!

Advice for future students: My advice for students is to shut out the noise and listen to yourself! Comparison is the thief of joy and all that matters is your experience. Be sure to put your energy into things you are truly passionate about and you will find success! Taking breaks, learning to ask for help, and leaning on those around you makes you strong and helps you grow. We cannot thrive without others so take advantage of all the support and opportunities that the school offers you. Challenge yourself, but also allow yourself to enjoy the journey and make the most of your time at USC! You are more capable than you will ever know!!
