Why you chose to pursue your degree within the ASPH: I chose to pursue my Public Health degree within the ASPH because of its strong emphasis on bridging academic research with community-based intervention. The opportunity to collaborate with faculty who are actively tackling health disparities provides a highly rigorous foundation in practical application of principles learned in the classroom. Ultimately, this degree will equip me with a well-rounded evidence-based background needed to design and implement sustainable health solutions among all populations.
Advice for future students: College is a unique period of exploration where the goal isn't just to get a degree, but to find what truly drives you. While keeping up with courseload is very important, the real breakthrough happens when you align your studies with something you are truly passionate about. When pursuing a subject that actually excites you, navigating demanding workloads become much more rewarding, rather than feeling like a chore. You don't need to have your entire career trajectory locked in day one; instead, focus on staying curious, leaning into the subjects that spark your interest, and giving yourself the grace to figure things out as you go.
