Why you chose to pursue a degree within the ASPH: I chose to pursue a BS degree for Public Health within the ASPH because I wanted my learning within the field of public health to impact and guide my decisions as a future physician assistant. It is important to me to understand how environmental, social, economic, and behavioral factors all contribute to our health and how diagnoses and treatments for patients can be defined by the existence of these factors within our lives. The material I have learned within my degree has already contributed positively to my life and decisions that I take to better my health. Being in the ASPH has provided me with so many friends and like minded people who care about the health of our population as a whole. 

Advice for future students: My advice for future students is to take advantage of the opportunities on campus to try new things. Join a niche club, start playing an intramural sport, pick up a new hobby with new friends. Branch out beyond your comfort zone and meet new people that will enable you to create friendships for life or that will present important networking opportunities for your future career. Take advantage of the unique opportunities and the time that you have while being in college!
