Why you chose to pursue your degree within the ASPH: I chose to pursue my degree within the Arnold School of Public Health because of the endless opportunities available for my future career as a Physician Assistant. I originally came in as a neuroscience major, however I quickly learned that I wanted to gain hands on experience and out of the classroom learning such as through the exercise science practicum offered through ASPH. As a Pre-PA student, I have to attain a high number of clinical hours throughout undergrad as well as maintain good grades and extracurriculars. The ASPH has been extremely welcoming and supportive throughout this process whether it is in advising meetings or talking to professors, everyone wants you to succeed! I have been able to take classes in areas that I am passionate about while also fulfilling my prerequisites for PA school. As an out of state student, I have been able to immediately get involved within ASPH, and make the most of my time here. The ASPH wants the best for their students and without a doubt will set you up for success in whatever career path you are interested in.

Advice for future students: My advice for future students is to take advantage of every opportunity possible and meet as many people as you can! It may seem intimidating at first, but everyone is in the same boat, and you never know where one experience may lead to. College truly does go by so fast, so make the most of your time and prioritize a healthy work-life balance. Stay true to you and work hard, go Gamecocks!
