Why you chose to pursue a degree within the ASPH: Since high school, I have been interested in understanding how the human body physiologically operates and is affected by its interactions with the environment. However, as a student on the pre-medical path, I also wanted to understand the structure and operations of the healthcare system and how it impacts patients across the nation. This led me to pursue a degree in Exercise Science under the Arnold School of Public Health, which has been a perfect bridge to not only learn the nuances of the human body and physical health, but also how various determinants and policies affect overall health. The Arnold School offers so many opportunities to get involved and gain real-world experience that I am confident will prepare me for my future career in healthcare. Between other students, professors, and advisors, the Arnold School is an amazingly supportive community of people that is dedicated to seeing students succeed!

Advice for future students: Get involved and say "yes" to anything you might be interested in! From research and clinical opportunities to clubs and intramural sports, take advantage of all of the opportunities you are given. It can seem overwhelming or scary at first, but you never know what you might end up loving or the support system you'll build across different communities on campus.
