The President’s Awards, Steven N. Swanger Leadership Award and the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Awards were presented at the annual University Awards Day, held April 18 on the historic Horseshoe. More than 200 Carolina students were honored at this annual celebration.

The University of South Carolina has been designated as a “Voter Friendly Campus” for the 2019-20 period. This recognition is given to institutions that have developed plans to coordinate faculty, staff and students to be more engaged in civic voting.

The University of South Carolina is hosting the first and second rounds of the 2019 NCAA Tournament at Colonial Life Arena, March 22-24, welcoming thousands of visitors to campus and the city of Columbia for the event. The city, the COMET bus service and the university have created a transportation plan for the week for visitors and regular commuters.

U.S. News and World Report released its annual ranking of online graduate programs on Tuesday (Jan. 15) and UofSC’s education and nursing online graduate programs both excelled, with the College of Nursing’s programs ranking No. 6 overall (No. 3 among public programs) and the College of Education’s online graduate offerings ranking No. 34 in the nation.
