Kristen Harrell

Kristin Harrell is an instructional designer with the Center for Teaching Excellence at USC where she helps others develop skills for incorporating technology and creativity into their instructional approaches. She has been working within the Digital Humanities since 2012, and her current interests focus on online tools, virtual reality, and immersive environments in learner-centered education. Previously, Harrell taught literature, First-year English, and Social Advocacy and Ethical Life at USC; in addition, she has assisted faculty in transitioning their own projects onto public, informational websites. Currently ABD in English literature, Harrell holds a Master’s degree in Cultural Studies, a Graduate Certificate in Women’s and Gender Studies, and a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from the South Carolina Honors College. She has spent the years since the early pandemic examining ways to help researchers, educators, and librarians communicate to students in accessible, engaging, and innovative ways.
