Biography

Jenna is a proud graduate of the University of South Carolina, where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education. She began her career teaching third grade at a local school in Columbia. Jenna received the Teacher of the Week Award given by WLTX News 19 in October of 2019.

Jenna transitioned to the College of Education and currently serves in the role of Clinical Placement Coordinator for the Early Childhood and Elementary Education programs. She coordinates placements, supervises interns, and manages data for her two programs. Jenna also assists with the Teaching Fellows program at USC, preparing these high-achieving students for the education field. In addition, she contributes to the facilitation of USC’s Coaching Academy, which is a community of Teacher Leaders who intentionally collaborate, inquire, and reflect to enhance teaching and learning. The Coaching Academy has a direct impact on preparation, recruitment, and retention. She recently participated in a Co-Teaching Train the Trainer program, where she is now equipped to provide training to mentor teachers on how to co-teach effectively. 

She is dedicated to meeting the needs of students, faculty, and staff while maintaining the College of Education’s high expectations for excellence. Jenna is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs at USC and looks forward to continuing her education journey within this program.

During her free time, Jenna enjoys camping with her family, gardening, spending time with her friends, and supporting all things garnet and black!
