and entrepreneurship. Research improves the quality of graduate programs and plays
an important role in introducing undergraduates to exciting engineering opportunities.
Our researchers partner with global laboratories and industries as well as other University
of South Carolina colleges and schools.
Engineering and computing students have access to interdisciplinary research in the

Every senior-level undergraduate student participates in a Capstone Design course.
In the course, teams apply laboratory research and classroom theory to industry-sponsored
projects that solve real market problems.
