Claflin 4+1 Pathway

The Claflin 4+1 Pathway program is a collaboration between the University of South Carolina and Claflin University, one of the nation’s premier historically black colleges and universities. It offers students the opportunity to earn an undergraduate degree from Claflin and a graduate degree from the College of Information and Communications in just five years.

About the Program

The Claflin 4+1 Pathway was created in fall 2020 between South Carolin'a flagship university in Columbia and Claflin University to expose underrepresented students to a degree opportunity, as well as to contribute to a pipeline of students in the profession. Students earn their undergraduate degree at Claflin and a master’s degree in journalism and mass communications or in library and information science in five years.
