What drew you to the field of medicine?

My inspiration for medicine is driven by my passion to help others. Throughout my life, I have been committed to serving my community and trying to make a difference in the lives around me. During my volunteer experiences and doctor shadows, I saw how the doctors made an impact advocating for their patients beyond their treatment plan. I want to be that advocate and give a voice to those that need it most.

What are your future plans?

I plan to pursue a career in pediatrics. While I’m not sure about the specific field, I am intrigued by high pace fields that require on the spot decision making. At the same time, I am passionate about patient care and building relationships with patients. I hope to field a field that combines the two. I am also committed to working in underserved communities and hope to pursue that during and after medical school. I'm excited to explore all of these areas over the next seven years.
