Brie Turner-McGrievy, PhD, M.S., RD

Dr. Turner-McGrievy’s research focuses on behavioral interventions for weight loss and the prevention and treatment of chronic diseases through the use of podcasting, social media and emerging technologies.

Dr. Monroe is an exercise physiologist whose research primarily focuses on technology-based approaches to effectively promote and assess physical activity, as well as to deliver effective behavioral weight control for adults.

Dr. Pellegrini is an exercise physiologist whose research has focused on the development and implementation of technology-supported behavioral interventions targeting diet, physical activity, sedentary behavior and weight loss.

Jason Yang

Chih-Hsiang "Jason" Yang, PhD

Assistant Professor, Department of Exercise Science

Dr. Yang has research interests in utilizing real-time data capture techniques to understand the dynamics of health behavior change and maintenance in naturalistic settings. He also investigates the role of mindfulness and affective states in regulating physical activity and sedentary behavior patterns. He has experience working with children, college students, and the older adult population.

Chelsea Larsen, MPH, CHES

TecHealth Research Assistant

Ms. Larsen is a Biomedical and Behavioral Interface Training Program (BBIP) fellow interested in technology-mediated behavioral interventions, primarily for sedentary behavior reduction and physical activity promotion.  She is also interested in the physical and mental health of caregivers of individuals with dementia.

Melissa Stansbury

Melissa Stansbury, MS, ACSM EP-C

TecHealth Research Assistant

Ms. Stansbury is exploring the interactions between physical, nutritional, and psychological components of wellness on weight management. She is particularly interested in adherence to behavior modification strategies and utilizing technology to facilitate healthy lifestyle change.
