CarolinaCAP is one of five finalists in the Rural Innovation and Impact Showcase, a new program from the National Rural Education Association, that celebrates bold ideas emerging from rural communities across the United States.
Why it matters:
CarolinaCAP was selected from nearly 50 submissions nationwide and earned the opportunity to present at the 2026 National Forum to Advance Rural Education in San Antionio, Texas.
CarolinaCAP was also featured in the Rural Advantage magazine from the National Rural Education Association.
Thinking differently:
CarolinaCAP's submission highlighted their work with Lee County to prepare teachers from qualified individuals already serving in the school district. By recruiting from within, school districts are able to fill openings with community members who have local connections and support.
