Principals and assistant principals play vital yet different roles in supporting students and educators in the schools they lead. Drawing on data from the 2026 SC Administrator Working Conditions Survey, this brief report examines resources and challenges both roles experience across our state and considers how these findings can inform stronger policy and practice in supporting South Carolina’s school leaders.
