Bio:

Hermania Harper brings more than 10 years of student affairs experience to her role as Director of Student Success and Retention.  She's served in living and learning communities at both the University of South Carolina and Louisiana State University.  Her work is grounded in the simple belief:  every student deserves to be seen, supported, and equipped to finish what they start.  

Most recently, Hermania served as the Assistant Director of Academic Advising at her Alma Mater, Columbia College, where she worked with students on individual academic and career plans as well as serving as instructor for Freshman Seminar, Social Justice and research courses.  She thoroughly enjoyed those lightbulb moments when her students locked into their own success journey.  

Outside of the office, Hermania regularly volunteers at Transitions homeless shelter and as an advocate with the South Carolina Childhood Common Agenda working to provoke change in legislature for affordable early care and education as well as child nutrition, and protection for vulnerable children globally.  

Most weekends you can find Hermania treasuring time with her family or getting lost in a great book.  She has an adventurous streak too.  Whether she's skydiving, kayaking, hiking or shopping its bound to be a great weekend!
