Leigh Pate, Clinical Assistant Professor

I am a native of Heath Springs, SC. I received my first Bachelor's degree from Winthrop University in Healthcare Management. I then earned my Bachelor’s in Nursing and Master’s in Nursing at the University of South Carolina. I completed my Doctorate of Nursing Practice at USC.

My clinical background includes critical care, psychiatry, pediatrics, and hospice. Each area has allowed me to grow in my nursing skill set and serve many different patient populations. I currently practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner in primary care, urgent care and home health.

At USC-Lancaster, I teach pre-nursing courses, upper division courses, and clinicals for the distance education BSN nursing students.

I am a member of the American Nurses Association, South Carolina Nurses Association, and the Alpha Xi chapter of Sigma Theta Tau.
