Bio

Nursing is my second career in life. I am proof that the old cliché, “You are never too old to learn”, is true. I graduated from the University of South Carolina Lancaster’s Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) program in 1997. I received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of South Carolina Upstate in 2007; with the sole purpose to obtain a certification from Emory University in Wound Ostomy Continence Nursing (CWOCN). In 2017, I graduated from Walden University with a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) with a focus in Nursing Education. I have worked as a Registered Nurse (RN) over two decades in several different fields of nursing including Surgical/Trauma Intensive Care, Home Health, and Wound Ostomy Continence.

Teaching

I have come full circle and I am back where it all started, now as an instructor for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program, College of Nursing. I am an adjunct instructor with the College of Nursing in Columbia and teach LANU 104 Nursing Care Management I, during the Spring and Fall semester.
