Digital Strategy Team

The Digital Strategy team in the Office of Communications & Public Affairs participates as part of the Committee and oversees all new major digital initiatives, ensuring they are in sync with accessibility efforts.

This team is well-versed in digital initiatives at the university and is on the lookout for accessibility compliance.

The Digital Strategy team plays a key part in managing major digital initiatives at the university and helps keep digital accessibility top of mind.

Responsibilities

Make Accessibility Part of the Digital Process
Ensure that new university-wide digital projects to include a plan for building according to accessibility compliance standards and requesting an accessibility review from the Director of Digital Accessibility before and after launch.

Create and Enforce Accessibility Testing Checkpoints
The team should test new digital strategy initiatives (new home page design, special landing page, virtual tour, etc.) for accessibility compliance before and after launch. 

Keep an Accessibility-Focused Developer on Staff
The Digital Strategy team must include at least one developer who understands digital accessibility.

Contribute to the Accessibility Committee
Help bring any issues to the attention of the larger Committee and complete tasks delegated by the Director of Digital Accessibility.

Work with the Director of Digital Accessibility
Collaborate and coordinate with the Director of Digital Accessibility for large digital initiatives that might require special compliance attention.

Stay Abreast of Accessibility Changes and Tools
Ensure team members understand accessibility and how to achieve it. Work to keep track of changes in accessibility compliance requirements, assistive technology and accessibility tools (testing, development, scanning, etc).
