Responsibilities

As the lead senior director of development for the College of Information and Communications, Braden Shain oversees fundraising and development operations and works closely with the college’s alumni and external relations and corporate engagement to advance the mission, research, and ambitions of faculty and students.

Background

Shain has been in major gift fundraising in higher education for over eight years. Prior to joining the University of South Carolina, he served as the lead fundraiser for the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department and School of Integrative Biology at the University of Illinois. Before going to Illinois, Shain was a regional major gift officer at Ohio University. Prior to working in higher education, Braden helped clients with their financial needs in banking and financial planning.

Personal

In his spare time, Braden enjoys working out, being outdoors and spending time with his wife, son and dog.
