The alumni award recipients were honored at a dinner held at the Capital City Club during Homecoming Week 2014. In attendance were friends and family of the honorees as well as faculty and staff of the School of Journalism and Mass Communications.
Jennifer Wood Adams
Dr. Adams is the director of Auburn University's School of Communication and Journalism. She was instrumental in developing a strategic partnership with Raycom Media to build a multimedia newsroom where students and professionals work side-by-side.
Boo is the head coach of the USC equestrian team. She led them to SEC championships in 2013 and 2014. Boo was voted National Coach of the Year in 2014 by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association and SEC Coach of the Year in 2013 and 2014.
Justin is a senior copywriter at The Martin Agency where he creates ads for Geico, Benjamin Moore, Wal-Mart and Kraft. He won a One Show Gold Pencil for his Kia Super Bowl commercial in 2012. He also ghostwrote a book for the Geico Gecko.
Prof. Ernie Wiggins presented Tom's award in absentia. Tom covers the city of Dallas and the George W. Bush Presidential Center for The Dallas Morning News. He's been with the paper since 2009, reporting on everything from Congress to breaking news to transportation.
Stephanie is the Director of Marketing at Midlands Technical College, where she is the key liaison for the college's online communications and marketing strategy and also guides the outward facing marketing initiatives for the institution.
