About this Fellowship
Postdoctoral fellowship placing recent PhDs in the humanities and humanistic social sciences in two-year positions with nonprofit organizations.
The fellowship aims to promote diverse career outcomes for humanities PhDs and demonstrates the potential of humanistic knowledge and methods to solve problems, build capacity, and advance justice and equity in society.
Applicants apply through ACLS to up to two specific partner organizations based on position/project descriptions.
Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the fellowship. Applicants must have received their PhD within the last five years to be eligible.
The competition typically takes place during the spring with a deadline in mid-March.
Award Value
$70,000-72,000 annually plus health insurance, $5,000 relocation allowance, health insurance, and professional development funding.
