As a freshman, I knew I wanted to take advantage of the unique opportunities offered at the University of South Carolina. Two years later, I had the opportunity to attend a study abroad program to Germany. I learned how a different culture builds their tomorrow through engineering applications in the fields of agriculture, transportation and energy. The German scenery was breathtaking, their innovations were impressive, and the overall experience was exhilarating. The trip helped me realize that engineering is not a desk job. It is a powerful discipline that takes place in the real world and its results shape our reality, one solution at a time. 

Future plans: Devin will begin employment as a chemical process engineer at Halocarbon Products in North Augusta, South Carolina, focusing on improving reliability, saving time and increasing safety within the current manufacturing process.
