It may be ill-advised to write a story about skipping class for the Top Scholar Annual Report, but missing lectures for Japan made for a remarkable experience. The places I saw, people I met, and foods I tried opened my eyes to an entirely different culture, but to my surprise, I felt the true impact after my return. Being home felt like putting on an old pair of shoes, except now, they were too comfortable. That night I started looking at graduate programs abroad. Several months later, and I received acceptance to the University of Haifa in Israel. I am not sure what my future holds, but if what's to come is anything like Japan, I trust that embracing the unknown will open unseen doors.
Future plans: Sarah plans to enroll in the University of Haifa’s Master of Public Health in Global Health Leadership and Administration before matriculating into medical school at Tufts University.
