One of the most formative experiences during my time at UofSC was interning at the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand. It was there that I decided I wanted to pursue graduate studies in atmospheric sciences. Through this internship, I was able to travel internationally to present my research, and I met a lot of scientists whose work I admired.

Future plans: This summer, Mattie plans to work as a research assistant at University of California Irvine in a biosphere-atmosphere interactions lab and later apply to graduate school.
