Success is impossible to define, but a good start is to spend your days doing things that make you happy while surrounded by people you care about. 

Impactful experience: 
I feel incredibly blessed to have had such an impactful time at Carolina. One of the most impactful experiences I had during university was starting an indie band (Homemade Haircuts) with fellow scholar Robert Magee. In our first conversation during scholar weekend, Rob mentioned he had a bass guitar. We joked we would start a band.... and that's exactly what we did. Four years later, it's so rewarding to be able to look back on our growth as musicians, music producers, friends, and people.   

Enjoy most as a TS: 
For me, the best part of being a Top Scholar was the scholar community. It was wonderful to know that I was surrounded by a community of like-minded, driven peers with diverse interests and skillsets. I also really appreciated the support of Jan, Tim and the whole OFSP team, who were there for me at every turn.  

Story: 
In reflecting on my time at Carolina, one of the biggest takeaways is the variety of experiences I felt empowered to pursue. I was able to study abroad in Norway, South Africa, Mozambique, Eswatini, and Australia. I was able to serve in various leadership positions on and off campus. I was able to take a breadth of classes that helped me better understand what subjects I did (and didn't) enjoy. I was able to learn from mentors who inspire me to pursue life with intellectual curiosity. Most importantly, I was able to meet my closest friends who quickly became an integral part of my life and will continue to be my foundation for years to come.   

Post-graduate plans:
Evan lives in Charleston and works remotely for a creative agency based in NYC that specializes in brand strategy and design.

Career goals/professional aspirations: 
I'm excited to try a variety of creative pursuits throughout my life, spanning music, design, psychology, and business.
