Early in my first fall, I joined South Carolina baseball as a video intern, which evolved into a student manager later that year. Coach Kingston’s staff arrived my sophomore year. They bought a Trackman radar and other equipment to collect data, but without anyone to use it or interpret the data. I realized then I could combine my passion for baseball with my statistics and technical skills for a career, and the coaching staff asked me to serve as director of analytics. I remained in the dual director of analytics/student manager role my junior and senior years. I am so incredibly thankful for the family I’ve made, the experiences I’ve had and the position this job has put me in for my future. 

Future plans: Alex will be working in player development with the Texas Rangers.
