Additional Resources

Letters of Recommendation are a critical piece of any national fellowship application. Advisors in our office are available to provide guidance on how to craft a letter that accurately reflects the specific criteria for each competition.

We recommend this helpful general resource on writing recommendation letters for students. In addition, you can find specific advice on what various national fellowships are seeking in their letters, with particular attention given to the Fulbright, Gates Cambridge, Goldwater, Marshall, Mitchell, NSF, Rhodes, Truman and Udall.

The University of South Carolina is a proud member of the National Association of Fellowship Advisors (NAFA). Faculty and staff working with fellowship applicants should follow the NAFA Code of Ethics.
