The Belgian American Educational Foundation (BAEF) supports one year of advanced study or research at a Belgian University or institution of higher learning.
Deadlines are typically in October, but be sure to check the competition website for the current cycle’s deadline.
In addition to the stipend, the Foundation will provide health insurance. Knowledge of Dutch, French, or German is optional but encouraged. The award supports either graduate study (master's or PhD) or research (doctoral or within two years of PhD conferral).
Award up to ten fellowships: $28,000 for Master's or Ph.D. students, $32,000 for Post-doctoral Fellows.

Supports one year of research, study, or teaching English abroad. Travel and living expenses provided.
Sponsored by the European Union, Erasmus Mundus offers students scholarships to complete one of the many offered specific Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters. Tuition fees and participation costs (including insurance), travel cost contribution, installation cost contribution, and monthly allowance.
