About this Fellowship
Funding to promote the education, recruitment, and retention of rising second-year NCAE-C community college, junior and senior undergraduate, and graduate/doctoral students in cybersecurity studies.
Scholarships require the student to agree to serve one year of service to the DoW, upon graduation, for each year or partial year of scholarship received. An opportunity also exists for scholarship payback through military service.
Individuals choosing to enlist or accept a commission to serve on active duty in one of the Military Services shall incur a service obligation of a minimum of 4 years on active duty in that Service upon graduation.
During breaks in their academic studies, DoW CSA Scholars will receive progressive, hands-on experience through internships with their selecting DoW Agency.
In return, scholars must agree to some restrictions and obligations regarding curriculum, GPA, and pre- and post-program employment.
If all conditions are met, DoW CSA Scholars will receive full-time conditional/permanent positions in the DoW upon program completion.
Award Value
Scholars receive a stipend ($29,000 - undergraduate, $34,000- masters/doctoral) for room and board, full cost of tuition, required books, required fees (including institutionally provided health care), a one-time laptop/computer purchase, and travel support to attend a cyber-related conference.
The stipend levels are $27,000 for undergraduate students and $32,000 for graduate (Master’s/PhD) students.

Highly competitive, portable fellowship that is awarded to U.S. citizens and nationals who intend to pursue a doctoral degree in one of 22 supported STEM disciplines. Three years of support, including full tuition and all mandatory fees, a monthly stipend ($3,600, for a total of 43,200 annually), and up to $1,600 in medical insurance.
National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship

SMART (Science, Math, and Research for Transformation) Scholarship
Provides an opportunity for students pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM disciplines) to receive a full scholarship and increase the number of civilian scientists and engineers working at Department of War laboratories. Full tuition and education related fees, stipend of $25,000-38,000 depending on degree pursued, paid summer internships, health insurance and book allowance, mentoring, and employment placement with the DoW after graduation.
