Be sure to consult the Fellowship Website for complete eligibility and competition requirements.

About this Fellowship

Summer institute in Washington, D.C. which combines rigorous study of political thought and public policy.

Hudson Institute Political Studies offers six weeks of courses in two sessions (mid-May through early July and late June through early August) led by master teachers, policy workshops directed by field experts and experienced government officials, and a distinguished speaker series of exemplary figures from public life.

Hudson offers an education in political theory and practice that broadens and deepens understanding of public policy and American political principles. Rather than a set of answers, Hudson Institute Political Studies offers a framework for political thought and strategic analysis that equips students to seriously confront the challenges facing this nation and the world. By studying the most consequential ideas of the greatest political minds, students seek to determine — and meet — the demands of a free society and a just republic.

The Summer Institute typically has two deadline options: an early deadline in mid-December with decisions at the end of January — students meeting this deadline are expected to participate in the program; and a regular decision in early March, with decisions at the end of March. Please check the competition website for specific and up to date deadlines.
