About this Fellowship
Summer internship opportunity for undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds interested in the environment, nature and conservation.
Scholars complete a nine-week internship in a research laboratory, at a field site, in an environmental nonprofit or governmental agency. Participants receive mentorship, develop professional networks and culminate their experience with a presentation at the Annual Capstone Symposium. Scholars are eligible to apply for a second year with a different organization in the field. Internships are primarily located on the East Coast and in the Great Lakes region.
Applicants must be current undergraduates (graduating seniors are eligible to apply) and have a minimum 2.75 GPA.

Award Value
$7,000 stipend, $300 discretionary funds, up to $2,000 housing/food/travel supplement and professional development.

Supports eligible undergraduates studying oceanic, environmental, biological, and atmospheric sciences, mathematics, engineering, remote sensing technology, physical and social sciences including geography, physics, hydrology, geomatics, or teacher education that support NOAA's programs and mission.
