DAAD German Studies Research Grant

About this Fellowship

Provides a grant for short-term (one to two month) research in Germany.

This is a specialized DAAD program designed to encourage research and promote the study of cultural, political, historical, economic and social aspects of modern and contemporary German affairs from an inter- and multidisciplinary perspective.

All applicants are expected to have completed two years of college-level German language studies and a minimum of three courses in German Studies (literature, history, politics or other fields) at the time of nomination. Applicants must be enrolled full-time and be nominated by the professor supervising their research project.

Deadlines are typically twice annually in May and November. Refer to the program website for details and deadline information.

Award Value

Research support ranging in value from $2,000 to $3,000 is available to individual scholarship recipients.
