Career plans: I will be starting as a Systems Design Engineer at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).
UofSC Story: I will never forget the third day of freshman year when fellow scholar (and now one
of my best friends) Michael Gallagher came up to me in the Honors Dorm after having
gone to BIG Wednesday, an exposé the CEC has at the beginning of every fall semester
for first-year students.
- "Hey man, did you there was an engineering fraternity on campus?"
- "No, I had no idea those existed."
- "Well we should definitely check it out."
I believe that rushing and joining Theta Tau, UofSC's professional engineering fraternity,
completely defined the trajectory of my college career. If it weren't for Theta Tau,
I wouldn't have the professional development and many of the close friendships that
I have today. And it's crazy to think it was all because of that one moment in Honors.
Most impactful experience: Interning at ZVerse, a startup based in Cayce, over the course of senior year. I've
never learned more about software engineering -- not only from a technical standpoint,
but also from business-/people-oriented perspectives as well -- than being thrown
into the fire to work directly on a product that is actively being pitched to investors
for funding. Truly an exhilarating experience.
Best part of the Top Scholars program: The community. I met 2 of my roommates and countless more lifelong friends through
the Top Scholar program.
